Our garden room prices start from £18,125 and prices increase depending on the size of the building – up to 28m² internally

The smallest garden rooms cost £18,125 for a 2.4m x 2.6m garden studio.

Our largest garden room costs £35,085 for a 5m x 6m garden studio, that’s just £1,169 per square metre.

We are completely transparent about our costs. The starting price of each style and size can be found on the Studio Ranges pages on our website – Astana, Abode, Abri, Cabana.

We’ll arrange a site visit for your dedicated garden room consultant to measure up, advise on the best use of space, and discuss ideas and requirements with you in detail in order to provide you with an initial design and associated quote. Any extras or upgrades will be itemised so that all additional costs are clear and there are no surprises.

Whats included in my quote?

You may have been researching garden rooms for many months now and are getting a headache from all the differences in quotes & hidden costs, eg foundations are not included and it’s up to you to have to find a different supplier & quote for that. You may have gone through the full ordering process only to discover VAT has been added right at the end! Here at Urban Escape Studios, we like to make things simple & transparent. The price includes the foundations, electrical connection to your house supply, decorating & VAT so your room is ready to move straight into! All you need to simply do is place your furniture into position!

We have listed everything that is included below:

Installation

Our dedicated, professional installation team will construct your garden room including the foundations. Our smallest garden studios take a week to construct, whilst our largest take up to two weeks.

Foundations

The floor, walls and roof are constructed using structurally insulated panels (SIPs) which offer highly efficient thermal values and exceptional strength. The wall thickness is 140mm (subject to cladding type), making our insulated garden studios warm in the winter and cool in the summer, with good sound-proofing. We use additional roof joists if you choose a sedum planted roof.

Construction

We use heavy duty composite pile foundations with a stainless steel frame which lifts the studio off the ground, leaving a breathable space, removing the risk of rising damp and condensation. Depending on the size of your garden room there will be 9-30 piles. Therefore we don’t need to ensure the ground is levelled first.

Cladding

We clad the exterior of our studios with ToughWood™ cladding which we manufacture in various contemporary and woodgrain effect colours. ToughWood™ is an engineered wood, manufactured from wood strands compressed under extremely high pressure and bonded together to create an ultra-tough dense and stable cladding. It looks like wood, but has none of the disadvantages of natural wood! Made from sustainable resources, it’s the ecologically responsible choice compared to PVC or composite cladding. For boundary walls on buildings over 15m² we supply the ToughWood™ with intumescent paint which further enhances its fire retardant properties. We also have the option to upgrade to other types of cladding at an extra charge, western red cedar for front or visible sides is especially popular.

Doors & Windows

We use 1.8m wide uPVC French doors and a 1.2m x 600mm top or side-hung uPVC picture window as standard on all our studios. Doors and windows have argon gas-filled double glazing, highly insulated and toughened glass. Upgrades include sliding or bi-fold doors, aluminium frames, and additional windows. High security locks are fitted to doors and windows, and we can also fit integral blinds.

Roof

The roof is a unique standing seam system designed for ‘industrial grade’ durability, it has hidden fixings and is anthracite grey in colour, finished with anthracite edging and guttering to the rear. Studios up to 3.8m deep can have a planted sedum roof, which not only looks spectacular when flowering, but also offers a sanctuary to insects, bees and birds and helps insulate your garden room.

Electrics

Depending on the size of the studio, we will install a minimum of 4 recessed ceiling lights and 3 double sockets internally. We will also fit 2 up/down lighters externally, or 3 recessed lights in an overhang. All electrics are connected to an internally fitted consumer unit with a residual-current device (RCD). We will connect to the mains electricity supply if your house is within 10m of the studio, any further distance is charged at £10/m. You can also have underfloor heating, wall-mounted convection heaters or air conditioning systems, Category 5 internet cable and socket, and USB sockets.

Interior

Our studio walls and ceiling are plastered, painted in two coats of white emulsion and finished off with 100mm skirting.

Flooring

Commercial grade laminate flooring is fitted over an underlay as standard and can be upgraded to engineered oak, carpet or rubber.

Are there any additional costs?

Clearing

If there are trees, shrubs or other garden buildings in place of where you would like your new garden room then we can of course help clear the site for an additional cost.

landscaping

If you are looking to make a real feature out of your garden room by landscaping the surrounding area then the Urban Escape Studios team includes a professional garden designer and experienced landscapers who can transform your garden while your studio is being built, ensuring your new outdoor room sits perfectly in your garden.

Extras

We want to help create your perfect space, so let us know if you want us to add a bathroom, kitchen or sauna, or if you want to include a log burner or air conditioning. We can then discuss an additional quote for these extras.

Is a garden room worth the cost?

Compared to Europe, the UK has some of the gloomiest cities in terms of number of sunny days. That’s a whole of garden square metres we’re paying our mortgage or rent on, but we rarely ever use.

An excellent way to maximise the use of our gardens is to build a garden room.

If you consider offsetting some of your garden space for a garden room, then the garden room costs will be worth it as you’ll be getting so much more now and in the future should you decide to sell your property. A garden building is a substantial investment and offers superb value for money.
