Triple glazed windows keep winter heat inside, while keeping summer heat out. The upgrade will ensure any surplus heating requirements are kept to the bear minimum over winter ensuring you can continue to use your garden room with zero to minimal running costs.
What heating and lighting is required can be efficiently and environmentally generated via our solar panels so you don’t even have to worry about connecting to mains electricity.
What are triple glazed windows?
Triple glazing contains three panes of glass within a sealed frame, as opposed to the traditional two panes found in double glazing. In between the panes of glass you’ll find argon gas. Triple glazing is most popular in cold climates, such as Scandinavia, however, the option of triple glazing is growing in popularity across the UK, as many people are looking to help improve thermal efficiency and ultimately make long term savings on energy costs.
What are the benefits of triple glazed windows?
1.Improved heat retention
reduces the amount of heat lost through your garden room windows. Double glazing works by having an air gap that reduces the thermal transmission of hot and cold air. Having an additional pane of glass in triple glazing creates another air gap to increase the efficiency of heat loss or solar gain. Over average triple glazing is said to be 20-30% better at heat conservation.
2. Reduces cold drafts
An added big plus to triple glazing is that it adds an intangible comfort factor to life indoors in the colder months.
3. Increased insulation performance, leading to lower bills
There is no shock that triple glazed windows are considered to be better all-around performers than double glazed windows. The extra window pane offers more durability, insulation and toughness than other types of windows. One important thing to consider is the u-value which is used to measure the energy efficiency of windows. The lower the u-value, the better the material performs as an insulator to help keep your garden room nice and warm. Our double glazed windows have a U value of 1.40 W/m2K compared to that of our triple glazed windows which have a U value of 1.20 W/m2K.
4. Noise reduction
These windows can also be helpful with acoustic insulation. Its thickness ensures that it can deflect sound waves trying to invade your garden room. They are even capable of insulating against traffic noise so you can work, play, rest or sleep in peace!
5. Reduced condensation
Reduced condensation on windows creating a dryer more comfortable space to enjoy. When making use of triple glazing windows, users get to enjoy a higher level of comfort when staying close to the window regardless of the season. They also help to regulate the temperature and eliminate any harsh conditions from the garden studio.

Disadvantages of triple glazed windows
1.Triple glazing
Triple glazing is heavier and more expensive than double. The cost can be almost twice as much in some cases. So take advantage of our free upgrade this January!

whilst they are able to block noise out, the best sound insulation actually comes with secondary double glazing with acoustic glass.

Can I fit solar panels to my garden room?
It’s perfectly possible to fit solar panels to a garden room. The amount of power the panels generate will be dependent on where the garden room is situated and how much direct sunlight it receives. If your garden room is located in a shady part of the garden solar panels would be unlikely to generate much power even in the height of summer. We work with solar panel fitters, who will be best suited to advise for your particular garden room and garden to get you maximum efficiency for your solar panels.
Do I need planning permission for solar panels in my garden?
In most cases, solar panels do not require planning permission as they fall under permitted developments and we strive to keep the height of your garden room with solar panels under the 2.5m height permitted development tolerance. Although it is your responsibility to check this with your local authority.
