Pat and Sally had recently moved into their ground floor flat when they asked us to redesign their garden, and to install a studio space where Sally can paint. We laid a long granite pathway with planting either side, and cedar batten screening along the boundary walls. The 4.3m x 3.6m art studio fits snugly into one corner, and we transformed the sloping bank at the top of the garden (last photo) into a lovely space at the end of the garden with steps up to a Balau hardwood deck which incorporates the existing trees. We completed the makeover by creating a pebbled barbecue area, with a spherical stainless steel water feature and mirror.
We are so pleased with how the garden has turned out, it has exceeded our expectations and will prove to be a much needed oasis of calm to sit in during this summer and for Sally to get back to her painting.
