Home Cinema & Chill Out Space
Our customers Tim & Jackie were looking for a large entertaining space for chilling out and creating a home cinema to enjoy with family & friends. We designed and built them a 5.4m x 3.2m garden studio with a 600mm overhang, and a contemporary pressure-treated timber pergola (5m x 2m) with an anthracite grey stain to match the window and doors.
We clad the studio with our low maintenance ToughWood cladding in ‘Granite’ colour giving a modern & stylish look. To allow plenty of natural light in the studio it was built with 1.8m sliding doors and a 1.2m wide full length case window and additional top hung window.
The studio can be lit up with 6 LED spotlights internally, plus 3 up/downlighters externally.
To keep it nice and cosy 365 days a year our customer also opted for electric underfloor heating with timer and thermostat as well as a black wall mounted panel heater.
So the space can be enjoyed all evening and for films we also built a separate cloakroom so our customer and their guests didn’t always have to nip back to the house. It features a toilet, and a sink with an electric heater tap, vanity unit and splashback.
Within the studio we also installed a 1.2m long kitchen worktop & double cupboard with electric water heater tap, stainless steel sink and splash back for making drinks and preparing snacks.
The space was finished with a large rectangular 43m² pressure-treated timber deck spanning across the garden at the upper lawn level, including a lower step out of the studio creating a stunning entertaining space outdoors complete with swinging chair.
