Our customer Malcom and his wife were looking for much needed extra space for a home office to save them from cluttering up their kitchen and a better balance between home and work. They love their garden room so much, that they now use the multipurpose space for reading, playing guitars and a guest room by installing a sofa bed.
They made the most of their garden space by building a 4.8m x 3.6m garden office which complemented their garden and surroundings. The Abri studio is stylish, functional and meets all their requirements. They installed 3 down lighters in the Abri overhang, to ensure maximum visibility across all seasons and in all weather conditions.
Externally it is cladded in ToughWood and with the Burnt Wood colour option to match their existing garden features.
It’s important when designing a home office that you strike a good balance between natural and artificial lighting that will cater for using your garden room all year round. To allow sufficient lighting, we installed windows to the front, side and a glass door. They opted for x2 1.2 split windows and a 900mm glass door, that are white inside and Anthracite colour externally.
Internally we installed x6 LED spotlights and 4 double plug pockets, situated in each of the corners for ease of use no matter where you are in the room and also installed an internet socket, running from the studio to the router in the house to enable them to have internet within their home office studio.
It was then plastered finished and painted with two coats of white emulsion and features a beautiful laminate flooring to finish.
Very pleased with my garden office. My wife and I work from home, so it has made such a difference having the extra space, to save us from working in our kitchen.
