Susie and Dan wanted a new room in their garden where they could work from home and have a view all the way down to the house. We designed this 4m x 3.7m studio for them – complete with larch cladding stained in black ash, a cedar sunshade across one side of the 3m wide sliding doors, a purpose built timber pergola, and a grey limestone patio. Along the pathway, hidden behind the office are two adjoining storage spaces for the garden tools, bikes and children’s play equipment. These were constructed in the same way as the garden room to ensure they are watertight, with lights, sockets and uPVC doors. To finish off the stylish new look of the garden, we built a 15m long cedar batten fence all the way up the garden, painted in UV protection oil to maintain the beautiful colours in the grain of the wood.
