Our customer Christine was looking for a garden studio for her home in the heart of Brighton. Using her garden space we created a sunken, captivating garden room which she could use as a chill out area and office.
We built her a 4.2m x 3.8m Astana studio with clean elegant lines, clad in our ultra durable and low maintenance cladding – ToughWood™ in shade Granite.
The studio boasts uPVC double glazed windows in anthracite grey on the outside, and white on the inside. The featured window is a top open 1.2m by 800mm high casement window alongside 1.8m wide French doors.
The studio was upgraded with an environmentally friendly sedum roof including additional reinforcing roof joists to accommodate extra weight, plus drainage and water retention layers, vermiculite enriched soil and a cobble border creating a quaint and picturesque look.
Internally we installed power and lighting with 4 recessed spotlights in the ceiling internally and 2 external up/downlighters followed by 3 double sockets in each corner.
So Christine could work from her new retreat we also installed a Cat 5 internet cable and socket.
Externally we constructed a recycled composite deck spanning the width of the garden with steps down to the studio
